Just Go With It (2011) remains a top vacation movie, but the map for these spots has changed for 2026. While filming took place between March and May 2010 in Los Angeles and the Hawaiian islands of Maui and Kauai, several iconic locations look different today. This includes the Beverly Hills medical center and the private falls in Kauai.

I have cross-referenced the 2011 movie frames with the current reality in 2026. This updated guide covers the major Just Go With It filming locations. It includes details on how to legally access the restricted waterfall, which L.A. spots have been rebranded, and how to navigate the current renovations at the famous resort.
Just Go With It Hawaii Locations
Midway through the movie, the action shifts to Hawaii, where Danny, Katherine, Palmer, Eddie, and the kids vacation at a luxurious resort. In reality, the production was shot primarily on Maui (for the resort and beach scenes) and Kauai (for the jungle waterfall scene).
Adam Sandler is known for filming in Hawaii (e.g. 50 First Dates); for Just Go With It, he chose some of the most picturesque spots. Below are the key Hawaiian locations, which fans can indeed visit, including one of the most famous hotels in Maui.
Grand Wailea, Maui: Just Go With It Hotel
The majority of Hawaii scenes were filmed at the Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort on Maui’s south shore. In the story, this is the fancy resort where Danny’s whole crew stays. All those sweeping shots of pools, waterslides, and beachfront cabanas – that’s the Grand Wailea.
Many comedic moments take place on its grounds: from Danny teaching his fake son to swim in the pool, to the over-the-top luau where Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman have a hula showdown.
The Grand Wailea actively acknowledges its Hollywood connection. According to the resort’s FAQ, many Just Go With It scenes were filmed there, and staff can point out spots like the Hibiscus Pool or Chapel where filming occurred.
Notable scenes include: the lobby check-in (Danny’s crew arriving with garlands), poolside antics (Danny bonding with the kids in the water), Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) emerging from the ocean in a bikini, a homage to the iconic Dr. No beach scene, which was shot on Wailea Beach right in front of the resort.

Kilauea Falls, Kauai: Just Go With It Waterfall Scene Location
One of the most memorable sequences is when Danny, Katherine, the kids, and Eddie hike to a majestic waterfall, where they splash around and reconnect as a “family.” This was filmed at Kilauea Falls on the island of Kauai.
After a jungle trek, the group arrives at this breathtaking waterfall. In reality, Kilauea Falls is about 60 ft high, with a wide rock ledge creating a curtain of water into a calm basin.
The waterfall scene was shot in April 2010, when Kauai’s weather is generally good (though the area is quite rainforest-like). Cast and crew were choppered into the falls location due to limited access. In interviews, Jennifer Aniston mentioned this was her first time in Kauai’s jungles, and that the water was freezing!
Safety divers were on set since the actors do jump into the pool; Bailee Madison (who plays Katherine’s daughter) was a brave sport about swimming near the falls. It’s also said that between takes, Adam Sandler would crack jokes to keep the kids relaxed, as the thunderous water made communication tough.
Kilauea Falls is on private land near Kilauea town, on Kauai’s north shore (postal code 96754). It’s not a commercial park – the falls are on an estate formerly known as the Silver Falls Ranch. Coordinates roughly: 22.1905° N, 159.408° W.
In fact, a homeowner purchased the land and built a residence there, barring the former hiking access to the falls. Hiking to the base of Kilauea Falls is no longer allowed for safety and privacy reasons.
Location Details
If you’re waterfall-hunting on Kauai, consider legal sites like Secret Falls (Uluwehi Falls), Ho’opi’i Falls, ʻŌpaekaʻa Falls, or Wailua Falls, which are beautiful and accessible. While they aren’t Kilauea Falls, they’ll give you that verdant Jurassic Park vibe. In fact, some tourists mistook Kilauea Falls in the movie for the more famous Kipu Falls or Wailua Falls.
Just Go With It Golf Scene
There is a brief scene where Danny bonds with Katherine’s son, Michael, by playing golf in Hawaii. This scene underscores Danny’s growing fatherly affection for the kids and shows Michael warming up to him, which will get even more after the swimming lesson.
Most likely, the shots were taken at the Wailea Emerald Course (adjacent to Gannon’s restaurant) or the Wailea Gold Course. Both courses start from the clubhouse at 100 Wailea Golf Club Drive and feature panoramic ocean views.
One can spot small details, like the flagsticks and golf carts, that match Wailea’s equipment. The child actor (Griffin Gluck) later shared that Adam Sandler gave him some golf pointers in between takes and kept the mood fun. Sandler is an avid golfer, so he was “in his element” filming those swings.
Location Details
If you’re a golfer, you can book a tee time (expect resort prices around $200+ per round). Even if you don’t golf, the club’s facilities are accessible. The courses typically operate from sunrise to sunset; mornings are a great time to catch views of Haleakalā volcano, and afternoons offer stunning ocean sunsets.
Grand Wailea Swimming Lesson
Don’t miss a swim in the elaborate pool where Danny teaches little Michael to swim. It’s actually multiple interconnected pools with a water elevator and slides.
Wailea Beach in front is public, so anyone can sunbathe or snorkel where Brooklyn Decker’s scene was shot. Parking for non-guests is limited (try nearby public beach parking and walk over).
The Spa Girls’ Day: Katherine & Palmer at the Spa
Spa Grande at Grand Wailea, 3850 Wailea Alanui Dr, Wailea, Maui, HI. This is the actual spa facility at the Grand Wailea Resort. At 50,000 ft2, Spa Grande was one of the largest spas in Hawaii and served as the filming site for Katherine and Palmer’s joint spa day.
The spa features a Roman tub, Swiss jet showers, Japanese furo bath, and five specialty baths in a lavish “Termé Hydrotherapy Circuit”. Jennifer Aniston and Brooklyn Decker reportedly enjoyed filming there: Aniston has called the entire Hawaii shoot “heaven” and “a dream” because she adores Hawaiian spa vacations.
Historically, Spa Grande was open to both hotel guests and the public – non-guests can book services or purchase a day pass to the Termé hydrotherapy pools. Typically, the spa’s hours are 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM for facilities, with treatments starting from 8 AM.
Oceano Restaurant: Nicole Kidman “Hula Dance” Contest
The dinner was filmed on location at Gannon’s, a real award-winning restaurant. The film crew took over the restaurant in March 2010 and rebranded it as the fictitious “Oceano” for the shoot. All the restaurant staff on screen were actual Gannon’s employees serving as extras.
The choice of Gannon’s was deliberate: its broad patio could accommodate the complex scene with multiple actors and even a hula dance floor (used later for the contest). Locals were excited as major stars (Sandler, Aniston, Kidman) were on Maui for several days filming these sequences.
Location Details
Bev Gannon, the restaurant’s owner and a famed Maui chef, welcomed the crew; she noted that the filmmakers “named the restaurant Oceano, but it is really the new Gannon’s Restaurant” in her press letter.
Nicole Kidman’s participation was a fun coup for the film; she gamely learned hula moves and donned a comedic costume. She and Jennifer Aniston improvised parts of their over-the-top dance-off, much to the crew’s amusement.
In interviews, Aniston said doing the silly hula battle with Kidman was “one of the most liberating, fun days” of shooting. Both actresses just “went for it” without vanity.
Local hula instructors were on set to choreograph and ensure the moves were humorously exaggerated but still recognizably hula. The Grand Wailea did, however, fully cooperate with production for other sequences.
JD McFunnigans: Kids World Family Fun Center
Palmer meets Danny’s fake family at JD McFunnigans. The production shot this sequence at Kids World LA, a real indoor family fun center complete with a cafeteria, climbing play structure, arcade games, and party rooms. At the time of filming (2010), it was a newly opened facility (formerly known as “Bright Child” play center) in Oak Park.
The production used the real interior of the facility, and you can see why. It’s a 15,000-square-foot space that feels completely immersive on screen.
You’ll definitely recognize this from the movie. It is a massive, four-story climbing structure with foam ball launchers and air cannons. On screen, it provides that chaotic, high-energy background that makes Danny look even more out of his element as a “dad.”
Location Details
Toddlers (13 Months – 23 Months): $8.99
Military/First Responder Discount: $12.99 Regular Admission
Adults and Infants: Free
If you’re planning a visit today, Kids World has kept its crown as a major family destination in the Oak Park and Thousand Oaks area. It has definitely evolved since the movie was released, but it still retains that same energy.
- The 4-story play structure is still the centerpiece, but they’ve added things like Laser Tag and an “Atomic RUSH” game that weren’t the focus in the film. There is also a dedicated “Toddler Zone” for the really little ones.
- They’ve rebranded their cafe as the Nom Nom Restaurant. It serves the standard kid-approved pizzas and wraps, but they also have a lounge area for parents with beer, wine, and sports on TV. It’s a far cry from the fancy Lobby Lounge at Casa del Mar, but it’s the perfect “dad” refuge.
- The center is located right at the corner of Lindero Canyon and Kanan Road. It’s easy to get to from the 101 freeway, and unlike the chaos of filming on Rodeo Drive, this spot feels very tucked away and local.
Rocco’s Tavern: The Bar Scene
Danny’s raucous bar scene, right after his disastrous wedding day, was filmed at Rocco’s Tavern in Westwood. This is where a heartbroken Danny (Adam Sandler) discovers the “power” of a fake wedding ring to attract women, setting the movie’s plot in motion.
Insight
A fun fact: the jilted bride is played by Jackie Sandler, Adam Sandler’s real-life wife. She agreed to cameo as the nasty fiancée who insults Danny, adding an inside joke for fans
In the flashback, Danny drowns his sorrows at the bar and improvises a sob story about a cruel wife, instantly charming a beautiful stranger. Rocco’s Tavern provided the lively backdrop, with its brick walls and sports-bar vibe.
The bar’s real name, “Rocco’s,” is visible in the film. It remained open to regular patrons during filming off-hours. In the story’s timeline, this scene occurs 20 years earlier than the main plot (hence, Sandler wears a prosthetic big nose for young Danny). No drastic set dressing was needed aside from period touches – the casual pub atmosphere was just right.
Visiting Rocco’s Tavern in 2026
Rocco’s has been a Westwood Village institution since 2000. It remains a high-energy spot, especially for UCLA students and sports fans. If you visit today, the brick interior and the casual “neighborhood joint” feel are exactly as they appeared in 2011.
Rocco’s Tavern is located on LA’s West Side. The neighborhood is home to UCLA and Westwood Village, with Beverly Hills and Bel-Air just a short drive away. If you visit today, the brick interior and the casual “neighborhood joint” feel are exactly as they appeared in 2011.
Fans can drop in for pizza or drinks and sit where Sandler’s character had his epiphany. Westwood Village parking can be tricky: consider the Broxton public garage or rideshare.
Location Details
Public transit: Take Metro bus 20 or 720 to Westwood. The bar is walking distance from campus and has no official tours, but friendly staff might point out where filming took place.
Beverly Hills Medical Center: Danny & Katherine’s Workplace
In the film, Danny’s high-end surgery clinic is the anchor for his elaborate lies. It is here that he convinces his assistant, Katherine (Jennifer Aniston), to pose as his fictional ex-wife, “Devlin.” Of course, the clinic never existed, but the building itself is very real. It’s located at 435 North Bedford Drive, Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
Next to a full ivy wall façade, we can see 2 businesses: Longmi Lashes By Daniel and Lorena Beauty Boutique. Unfortunately, as of 2026, neither the ivy wall nor the beauty venues are present there.
The building, located in the heart of the Beverly Hills “Golden Triangle,” is a premier medical facility owned by Welltower. In 2026, it is a hub for actual healthcare, hosting a variety of practices like Pico Clinics or Beverly Hills Aesthetic Dentistry.
The best way to experience this location is to treat it like a local. Park at the 461 N Bedford Drive Garage; it’s one of the few spots left in the city that offers the first 2 hours free (Mon–Sat). The area is highly walkable, so there’s no need to rush.
At 443 N Bedford, just steps from the filming location, sits Café Sheera — widely considered one of the most Instagrammable cafes in LA. It features a massive flower wall and a menu of upscale Mediterranean sweets. The kind of place you’d stumble into and stay longer than planned.
Tip
Order the Egyptian Rose Latte ($8.25) or the Pistachio Date Shake ($8.75). Both are signature drinks worth the stop.
If you are up for a more substantial meal, Caffe Dell’arte is across the street. It is the rare Beverly Hills spot that doesn’t charge Beverly Hills prices. Their Chicken Breast and Honey Mustard sandwich runs about $12: fresh, straightforward, and genuinely good. In the Golden Triangle, that’s a find worth bookmarking.
Malibu Beach House Party: Meeting Palmer
Danny and his cousin Eddie (Nick Swardson) attend a party hosted by one of Danny’s former clients, Adon (Kevin Nealon), also referred to as “the botox guy”.
Danny meets Palmer (Brooklyn Decker), a young 6th-grade teacher, and they hit it off. They end up spending the night on the beach together under the stars, until Palmer discovers Danny’s fake wedding ring in the morning.
The house itself appears to be a private property as of 2026, not available for rental, so identifying the exact address is kind of tricky; however, after hours of research, I came to the conclusion it’s located on the Encinal Bluffs. I’ll explain why.
This section of Malibu is characterized by massive, multi-acre lots where houses sit on a steep, rugged bluff rather than at sea level. Unlike Malibu Road or Point Dume, the cliffs here are more irregular and “wild”.
The house opens toward a paved terrace, the terrace leads into the pool area, the pool sits directly in front of a lawn, and the lawn ends at a cliff edge where a long staircase begins. The staircase is continuous and aligned with the property, not a separate public access.
The neighboring house, having yellow-ochre stucco, dark window frames, and terracotta roof tiles, sits very close to the side. Additional houses of a similar style are visible in the background. This is not an isolated parcel; it is a row of adjacent properties.
The host house has 2 stories. The 2nd floor is significantly narrower than the first, creating large, flat walkable roof terraces on the first-floor level. The pool is asymmetrical and has steps built into 2 sides.
Both houses have a Mediterranean vibe in terms of architecture, and looking closely at the interiors of the party house, one can see those colonial Spanish distinctive features, like wrought iron-style fixtures, plaster-style white walls, rustic heavy wood framing, and dark patinated metal sculpture
So following the clues, the most likely location is Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA; not far from La Piedra Beach parking lot at La Piedra Beach Rd, Malibu, CA 90265
As of 2026, the grass on the patio is no more, but the overall layout and position are the closest.
The beach footage shows rock formations and cliff erosion typical of an El Matador-type coastline. However, large sections of that area have no houses above them. The staircase confirms the house sits on a buildable bluff section elsewhere along the same coastal stretch.
Beach Scene: El Matador or Point Dume?
Although some sources point to El Matador as the usual suspect for the beach scene, there’s one more location to consider as a candidate for the filming spot — Point Dume State Beach, the Pirates Cove, in particular.
The large, jagged rock formation at the southern end of the beach is also known as the “Big Rock”. The sharp, triangular peak of the rock, along with the way the cliffs curve behind it, is a permanent landmark.
This specific formation is one of the most filmed spots in California (also famous as the ending location of the original Planet of the Apes).
Point Dume beach area is part of a State Preserve. In 2026, the tide levels vary significantly, so for a proper evaluation, it’s better to visit at low tide.
On the other hand, El Matador beach has its signature “Elephant Rock” and the arches, which may not be so recognizable in the night walk scene.
However, when Danny and Palmer wake up in the morning, the camera allows us to look closer at the rock formations, and then El Matador seems more appealing as the filming location.
The layered, stratified texture on the left cliff face is very characteristic of El Matador’s sedimentary formations. Point Dume’s Pirate’s Cove walls tend to be steeper, smoother, and darker even in warm light.
One more fact is that El Matador actually faces more southwest, meaning it catches morning light beautifully on its cliff faces exactly the way we see here. Pirate’s Cove is more sheltered and enclosed, so early morning light would struggle to penetrate it as openly as this frame suggests.
So all in all, El Matador seems like a winner of this contest.
Location Details
Keep in mind that no overnight camping is allowed on the beach (unlike Danny and Palmer’s cinematic sleepover).
Palmer’s School in Los Angeles: Danny’s Apology Scene
After their first night together, Danny tries to win Palmer back by coming clean: he shows up at Palmer’s school. Palmer is on campus supervising students when Danny arrives to awkwardly apologize (and spin more lies).
The production chose a real Los Angeles-area school instead of a set, lending authenticity with actual classroom exteriors, hallways, and a working playground.
I believe that the best visual match is Notre Dame High School (Sherman Oaks), located at 13645 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, CA 91423. Built in the mid-20th century, the campus reflects classic Mission-style design, with arched colonnades and a chapel tower.
Rodeo Drive Makeover
When Danny recruits Katherine (Jennifer Aniston) to pose as his wife, “Devlin,” he takes her on a luxury makeover shopping spree. So they head to Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. While the movie makes it look like a single afternoon, it’s actually a carefully edited “greatest hits” of Beverly Hills luxury where the brand logos do the heavy lifting.
The place on this still is Two Rodeo Drive, located at the intersection of Via Rodeo & Rodeo Drive; the circular turreted building with the gold dome is the most distinctive landmark of this luxury shopping area. Surprisingly, today, 15 years after the movie was shot, this area looks exactly the same, well, almost exactly.
Even if you are yet to make your first trip to LA, you definitely remember Rodeo Drive shopping from ‘Pretty Woman’ and ‘Clueless’.
This high-end retail complex was styled to look like a European promenade. The curved street with cobblestones, ornate architecture, and luxury storefronts like Versace, Breguet, Tiffany & Co., etc., gives a kind of “Beverly Hills fantasyland” vibe. Directors often use it when they want a location to feel expensive, aspirational, or “fashion capital” without naming it explicitly.
Hunting for Just Go With It filming locations on Two Rodeo Drive
There’s a single red sign in the background that gives it all away: Garrard, the British Crown Jeweller. That’s enough. Garrard opened its US flagship in 2007 on Via Rodeo, the cobblestone pedestrian street inside the Two Rodeo complex, right at the corner of Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard.
The architecture seals it. The red-brick building on the left, with its arched windows and white stone detailing, is one of the most recognizable features of Via Rodeo. Add the fan-pattern cobblestones underfoot and the Victorian lamp posts, and there’s no mistaking it. The scene was shot looking northward up Via Rodeo, with Garrard sitting in the background.
Garrard has since moved on. If you walk up Via Rodeo today and look for that spot, you’ll find Winn Slavin Fine Art, a gallery trading gemstones for paintings. The cobblestones, though, haven’t moved an inch.
As Danny and Katherine walk, several famous signs are front and center:
- The Gold Dome: You’ll spot the circular turret of the building at 208 N Rodeo Dr (formerly Gianfranco Ferré and now Stefano Ricci). It’s the ultimate “Welcome to Beverly Hills” landmark.
- The Red Awning: 202 N Rodeo Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210 (formerly Garrard and now an art gallery).
- Tiffany: This is a major visual clue. The pair is seen exiting the Tiffany & Co. store on the corner of Rodeo and Brighton Way.
Barneys New York Shoe Scene
While they hit various shops on the street, one specific stop takes them inside the legendary Barneys New York flagship at 9570 Wilshire Blvd. Filmed in 2010, the movie captures the store in its classic era. This is where Katherine finally trades her everyday look for designer heels, navigating the high-end shoe department.
This was the actual Barney’s New York flagship in Beverly Hills for decades. Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler were filmed browsing and bantering in the store’s center atrium. Eagle-eyed viewers will notice Barneys’ signature spiral staircase and sleek displays in the background.
Location Details
The rest of the makeover is essentially a marathon of brand sightings. Unlike many movies that use generic props, Just Go With It features real flagship stores to sell the high-stakes vibe.
In the montage, you can see them popping in and out of shops with actual bags from Gucci (347 N Rodeo Dr) and Louis Vuitton (295 N Rodeo Dr). When the styling session happens, the “spoils” are everywhere: specifically, those massive white Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) bags and pink Jimmy Choo bags that were the absolute “must-haves” of 2010.
Your “Just Go With It” Walking Tour Map
If you want to follow the exact “brand trail” from the movie, here is the most efficient route for your Beverly Hills visit:
- The Starting Shot: Stand at the corner of Wilshire and Rodeo. Look up to see the Breguet sign and the Gold Dome, the exact view from the movie’s transition shots.
- The Two Rodeo Walk: Head up the cobblestones of Via Rodeo. Here, next to the former Garard and Winn Slawin Gallery now, there are stairs, captured in Clueless, that make a perfect photo op.
- The Blue Box Stop: Continue to the top of the stairs to Tiffany & Co
- The Flagship Row: Walk north on Rodeo Drive to pass the massive storefronts for Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
- The Shoe Department: End your walk at 9570 Wilshire Blvd (the current Saks), where the shoe shopping scene went down.
Hotel Casa del Mar, Santa Monica: “Devlin” meets Palmer
The historic Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica was used for a key meeting scene. In the movie, Danny’s assistant Katherine (Aniston) first meets Danny’s girlfriend Palmer (Brooklyn Decker) while posing as “Devlin”. The upscale beachside hotel serves as the neutral ground where Katherine, freshly made-over, convinces Palmer that Danny’s “ex” is out of the picture.
Casa del Mar is a landmark luxury hotel right on Santa Monica Beach. In the film, you can spot the Mediterranean revival architecture and large windows facing the Pacific. This massive, 1920s Italian Renaissance building just screams old money.
When the movie was shot in 2010, the hotel was already a well-known spot for discreet luxury. You can see the sweeping double staircase and the grand arched ceilings in the film, which give the space its mansion-like feel.
If you visit today in 2026, you are arriving right in the middle of the hotel’s 100th Anniversary. While the bones of the building are exactly as they appear in the movie, the hotel has leaned into its Roaring Twenties roots with updated coastal textures and historical displays.
Location Details
To drink like Katherine, you’ll want to order a Grey Goose Martini. For a true splurge during the centennial year, a premium martini like that usually runs about $26.
Pizza Hut: Danny Meets with Katherine’s Kids
Danny needs Katherine’s 2 kids to pretend to be his own children as part of his escalating lie to Palmer. He brings Maggie and Michael (played by Bailee Madison and Griffin Gluck) to Pizza Hut to butter them up. Over slices of pizza, the kids negotiate outrageous terms (Maggie demands acting classes, and Michael wants to swim with dolphins in Hawaii) in exchange for their cooperation.
The architecture in this still gives us a good shot at pinpointing the exact Pizza Hut location. Brick walls with a specific dark-red and white mortar pattern match the former Pizza Hut at 5525 Sepulveda Blvd, Culver City, which kept the classic design well into the 2010s and was frequently used for filming (including “The Office” and local ads).
As of 2026, this building is occupied by another chain venue, ‘El Pollo Loco’, which is known for ‘Mexican classics made with fire-grilled chicken’.
